Little Us for a Big Cause

October 29th in the Lewis Mills Auditorium, a rising band known as Little Us made a spectacular performance. They played with a cause; they played to raise money for the Children’s Medical Center. With lights filling the darkness of the room, and music filling the audiences ears, standards had been met. This group succeeded in hope to bring in order to amass the most money- for a good cause of course. With high spirits, Little Us collected $450 and plan to donate it all to the children’s hospital.

This band of rock and high school seniors formed in eighth grade. They have all been close friends. Originally there were only three members, but as new amenities were made, the larger the band grew. Now there are two pianists, one drummer, and three guitarists, one of which is the lead singer. This band has done many other fundraisers too, including gigs for the crew team, Safe Harbor, concert for sights, etc. However, I’m sure many would agree that this reason might have been their most powerful. The manager, Edy Gonzalez, says, “The reason we started this foundation was because we have always wanted to use our talent and entertainment to do good in the community and make a change.” He explains that the idea to support a children’s hospital had been brought up in the past. It seemed like almost too huge of an opportunity though, so the band pushed it off until now- “before it was too late” Edy says.

Students and family weren’t the only people to hear about this memorable performance though; News Channel 8 even arrived to take a few videos of the band with a reason. Little Us put on a show that didn’t disappoint either. With the guitarists leaving the stage to walk down the isles, the audience clapped and enjoyed every single minute of music that left the stage.

Expectations were exceeded, and promises fulfilled- Little Us put on a show that wouldn’t be forgotten. After the show, they took pictures with fans, and went out to celebrate the effort and talent that all paid off in this one, outstanding performance.
